First blog review

A Singaporean bloke took the trouble to write a review after the SIFF screening here. He even has a video-clip of me doing the Q & A. Such enterprise! Once our own National Service brats grow up, I can only hope they will be as hard-working.

We will be writing an appeal letter to the Home Ministry which had decided to ban Lelaki Komunis Terakhir from Malaysian cinemas based purely on hearsay published in Berita Harian. More updates soon!

Fuck! Is there anything people who've viewed the movie can do? Write rational letters to the press explaining how it's not a movie about converting people to Communism? (Not that I'll be much good, I'm a Singaporean non-Malay speaker who's just woken from a period of youth optimism at contested elections to see the PAP sweep the elections almost completely again... sigh).

Hi Amir,

I watched your show at the SIFF and I thought it was simply brilliant. Loved the nyanyi2 and joget2 propaganda spoof. I would love to get a copy of the movie, for educational purposes :). I thought that I could go to KL over the June holidays and get one but looks like youre facing a ban which is of course very very sad cos your movie its just ridiculously great. Is there anyway I could lay my hands on a dvd/vcd of your movie?
